Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Saturday, April 25, at Holy Savior Catholic Church at 612 Main Street in Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Holy Savior Catholic Church cemetery. She is survived by her son, Robbie; daughter-in-law, Adele; granddaughters, Elyse and Yvette; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Joseph Adams; and daughter, Robin. Nettie was a graduate of Lockport High School and married Alvin Joseph Adams soon after World War II ended. Nettie and Alvin moved to Plaquemines Parish in the late 50s, where she was a homemaker and mother to two children. Later in life, Nettie returned to school to acquire a BS in Education and taught third grade in Port Sulphur as well as the gifted and talented classes. She subsequently returned to school part-time to obtain her Master's degree, and became an IEP (Individualized Education Program) Coordinator for Plaquemines Parish School District. She retired from teaching after 30 years of success and moved to New Orleans in 1988 after Alvin's retirement from LSU. She made many friends and participated in many activities. Nettie lived in New Orleans until June 2013, when she moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to live closer to her son after Alvin passed. She resided at an assisted living facility, made many friends and was active in all of their activities, but especially enjoyed all the outings for lunches and shopping. She was well-loved by her friends and caregivers and will be missed very much. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to: the American Heart/American Stroke Association, 110 Veterans Blvd., Suite 160, Metairie, LA 70005. ======================
