Cantrelle, 77, a native of Cut Off and Raceland and resident of Raceland passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 13th at Samart-Mothe in Raceland from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 14th at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Claudelle B. Cantrelle; son, Kevin J. Cantrelle; daughter, Kellie C. Gros and husband Gerald; brothers, James "Jimmy" Cantrelle and wife Leona, Richard Cantrelle and wife Elsie, Phillip Cantrelle and wife Dawn; grandchildren, Sadie Pinell, Jenna Pinell, Lyla Gros, Mariah Dupre. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Mary Bourgeois Cantrelle. Mr. Ronald was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. He especially loved his children and grandchildren. He was the owner, builder and manager of apartment rentals. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed going to the casino, traveling and was an avid LSU and Saints fan. He will be remembered for his wonderful gumbo and homemade ice cream.
