She spent the last years in Houston, Texas surrounded by her children. A visitation will be held in her honor at St. Genevieve Catholic Church on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 8:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Houssiere, Becky C. Ellis, Steve Champagne, John "Jack" Champagne, and Elton "Bunny" Champagne; and four loving grandchildren, Luke McCuistion, Alexander Woods, Mia Fairchild, and Savannah Prieto. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elton and Emily Naquin Champagne She was the picture of kindness, humility, and God's grace. She surrounded herself with the joy of children by teaching and caring for them throughout her life. She was the most loving and gentle of souls who felt that children are magical and that dogs are God's gift to us. According to her children, she was born to be a mother and she filled that role beautifully. She warmed the hearts of all she met and touched. She was a loving friend who welcomed everyone with the sweetest of smiles. Her special way will live on through all those whose lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Genevieve Elementary School or the children's charity of your choice ======================
