Becnel, and another great –grandchild, Chad P. Gravois and his father, Gerard (Martin) Gravois. She has 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great grandchildren. Inez Guidry had her 100th birthday at Thibodaux Healthcare Center in Thibodaux on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Many family and friends attended. Waylon Thibodeaux played for her as she danced, while in her wheel chair. She played the washboard and the tambourine that night. The residents did not want the party to end. It was well worth celebrating her birthday. She had an amazing celebration. When one thinks of Inez, the following words come to mind: patience, kind, gentle, generous, caring, loving, helpful, family, church, gardening, cooking, and sewing. She had so many wonderful qualities. She took care of her own children plus her grand, great, and great-great grandchildren. She also helped other children in the neighborhood. She enjoyed the company of family and friends. She loved to cook and everyone was spoiled because she made the most amazing meals with fresh vegetables from her garden. She prepared Cajun dishes, also. Her family and friends would come over at her house to enjoy her cooking. She was an incredible homemaker, cook, and baker. Inez and her husband used to cook food together in the kitchen. She was known as “Taunt T-Nez” or “Taunt Inez” to many people. Inez and her husband worked on a farm and she loved her life on the farm. They grew vegetables and raised farm animals. She loved working outside in her flowers around her house. She would also go in the vegetable garden and pick her own vegetables. She also use to hand sew and repair a lot of clothes for her family. (Her children and grandchildren). Inez Percle Guidry was a strong-willed and passed a lot of wisdom down to the generations. No matter what happened in life, she remained calm and positive to overcome it. She was so many things to so many people, but she left a legacy and instilled her values in many children. Her family ties were the most important. She will remain in each and every one of us who met her, living in our hearts, until the day we get to see her again in heaven.
