Eddie J. Pitre Sr., 80, a native and resident of Chackbay, passed away Sunday, 
April 19, 2015.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday, April 22, at 
Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Chackbay. A Mass of Christian 
Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, 

with burial in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church cemetery in Chackbay.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rosemary H. Pitre; sons, Donavon Pitre 
and companion, Mary Bordelon, and Darrin Pitre and companion, Penny Clause; 
daughters, Janice Lassere and husband, Dennis, Tammie Falgoust and husband, 
Thomas, and Rhonda Buckley; brother, Steward Paul Pitre; sisters, Loredia 
Guidry, Lorina Daigle and Georgana Klebert; nine grandchildren; and one great-
grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred Pitre and Claudia R. Pitre; 
son, Eddie Pitre Jr.; and son-in-law, William Buckley.

Eddie was an avid family man, fisherman and gardener. He always had a joke to 
tell.

Special thanks goes to the staff of Thibodaux Regional Hospital and the 
Volunteers of Chackbay Fire Department.
