Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday, June 3, at Annunziata Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Audrey Babin; son, Chad Babin and wife, Sherry; daughters, Wendy Babin and Holly Babin Daquana and husband, Joseph; grandchildren, Heidi Bussie, Jason Babin and wife, Laura, Kami Tassin, Shawn Babin and wife, Kimberly, Alex Tassin, and Megan Clause and husband, Brian; and great-grandchildren, Brittani Doiron, Sabrina Babin, Katie Godwin, Hillary Bussie, Jackson Kitchell, Rhett Babin, Carter Tassin and Abigail Tassin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norris Babin and Ellen Picou Babin; son, Brent Babin; daughter-in-law, Lucille Babin; brothers, Delvin, Leland and Dean Babin; and sister, Mary Lee Smith. Lester was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church. He was married to Audrey Pontiff Babin for 65 years. He was a business owner for 35 years at Pelican Rental Tools, Inc. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors and spending time in his garden. He was always willing to help someone get started in their business; including four people who he helped get their start in the oilfield. He loved spending time and dining out with his entire family. He always had time to play with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He donated his time and money helping people and various charities. Lester was a member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as a Fourth Degree Knight at Holy Family and a Third Degree Knight at Annunziata. He was a veteran of the U.S. military and served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements. US Air Force ======================
