Duroc "Jay" Cheramie Jr., 71, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Grand 
Isle and Galliano passed away May 17, 2015. 

Visitation will take place on Thursday May 21, 2015 at Our Lady of Prompt 
Succor from 10:00 am till service time. Funeral Mass will begin at 12 noon 

with burial following in Cheramie Cemetery.

Mr. Duroc is survived by his wife of 54 years Gloria G. Cheramie; children 
Gregory Cheramie and wife Pam, Mickey Cheramie, Gwen Bradberry and husband 
Marty, Richard Cheramie, and Jimmy Cheramie and wife Mona; grandchildren Jacob 
and Jessica, Steven and Shaeley, Nicholas Cheramie, Lacey and Jordan Norville, 
Lauren and Grant Faulkner, Renata Schexnaydre, Duroc and Jennifer Schexnaydre, 
Natalie and Ben Autin, Theresa and Kyle Spooner, Matthew and Jeffrey Cheramie, 
Mark and Jimmy Cheramie; great grandchildren Madison and Emmalyn Schexnaydre, 
Alex Spooner, Victoria Cheramie, Dana Norville, Cooper Faulkner ,Ethan Spooner, 
Beckett Autin, brother Ray Cheramie, half brothers Edmund and Kerlin Kieff, and 
half sisters Mildred Martin and Ruth Pitre.

Mr. Cheramie was preceded in death by his parents Duroc Cheramie Sr. and 
Victoria Toups, great grandchild Angel Hope Cheramie, mother-in-law Evella 
Guidry, 4 halfbrothers, and one half sister.

Mr. Jay enjoyed duck hunting, watching TV; especially sports, dancing and 
playing the piano and accordion.
