Alzina Knight Elfert, 91, a native of Raceland and resident of Houma, passed 
away Sunday, May 24, 2015. 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time Friday, May 29, at St. 
Bernadette Catholic Church. 
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, 

with burial in St. Francis De Sales Cemetery II. 

She is survived by her son, Michael Elfert and wife, Jamie; daughter-in-law, 
Tina Elfert; brother, Jerry Knight; grandchildren, Dennis Elfert and wife, Kim, 
Michelle McCain and husband, John, and Scott Elfert and companion, Rachel Hitt; 
great-grandchildren, Richard Elfert, and Maria, Christina, John and Josh 
McCain; and many special nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Elfert; parents, James W. 
Knight and Lucille Ledet Knight; son, Richard Elfert; daughter, Julianne 
Elfert; brother, Harold Knight; and sister, Doris Knight. 

The family would like to express sincere thanks to the Homestead Assisted 
Living staff, her sitters, Lucille, Michelle, and Clara, and the staff of 
Hospice of South Louisiana. 

Samart Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
