Bessie M. Coleman McBride Kelley, 84, a native of Paincourtville and resident 
of Raceland, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015. 

Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. today, Friday, May 15, at Williams and Southall 
Funeral Home in Thibodaux and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday, May 16, 
at St. Charles Baptist Church in Paincourtville. Funeral services will be at 11 
a.m. Saturday at the church, 

with burial in St. Charles Baptist Church cemetery in Paincourtville. 

She is survived by her sons, Sidney McBride and Michael Thomas, of Houma, John 
McBride (Albertine Terry), of Labadieville, Werton (Susan) McBride, of 
Louisville, Kentucky, and Herman McBride, of Thibodaux; daughters, Audrey 
Francis, of Thibodaux, Hilda McBride, of Paincourtville, Ethel Thomas (Nelson 
Robertson), Linda (Ernest) Coleman, of Houma, and Dorothy (Alton) Gray, of 
Raceland; sisters, Edna Coleman, of Napoleonville, and Lillian Crandle (Edward 
Mitchell), of New Orleans; stepsisters, Celena Gladden, Lucille Massap and 
Louise Conway; 66 grandchildren; 111 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-
grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and John Coleman Sr.; first 
husband, Sidney McBride; second husband, Cleveland; and numerous children, 
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters. 

Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
