Helen Ledet Matherne, known to everyone as MaShoo, passed away on May 6, 2015. 
She was born in Bourg, LA and resided in Thibodaux, LA.

A visitation will take place on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Thibodaux Funeral Home 
from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Friday, May 8, 2015 at St. Joseph Co-
Cathedral from 8:00 AM until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 
held at 10:00 AM with 

burial to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

She is survived by her children, Connie Benoit and husband Norris, Wendy 
Vicknair and husband Al, Hebert Matherne, Jr. and wife Sandra, Danny Matherne 
and wife Renee, Denise Babin and husband Linwood "Poss", Sheila Gros and 
husband Roy, Jr., and Missy Pitre and husband Chad. She is also survived by 17 
grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and her brother, Robert Ledet.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Matherne, Sr.; her parents, 
Felix and Denisia Ledet; one great grandchild; brothers, Johnny Ledet, Nolan 
Vito, and Luby Vito; and sister, Annabel Gilfour.

MaShoo loved spending time with her family and reading was her passion in life. 
She will be greatly missed by all of her family, but she is dancing in heaven 
now with the love of her life, PaShoo.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of handling the funeral arrangements.
