Angele “Angie” Barkate Montz, 91, a native of Sulphur, LA and a resident of 
Thibodaux, LA, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015. 
She was born June 9, 1923.

A visitation will be held in her honor at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral on Wednesday, 
May 27, 2015 from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. 

The burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux, LA.

She is survived by her husband, S. Dan Montz Jr.; son, Don Sidney Montz; 
daughter, Kim Montz Chiasson; brothers, Gabe Barkate, Joe Barkate, and Ernest 
Barkate; sisters, Yvonne Barkate; grandchildren, Zachary Faucheaux and Sydni 
Faucheaux; and great-grandchild, Jackson Faucheaux.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Antoine and Victoria Nijma Barkate; 
brothers, Jimmie Barkate and Johnny Barkate.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Haydel 
Memorial Hospice especially Carol Haydel and Germaine Young. They would also 
like to express their gratitude to Judy Moreaux, Lila Arsan and Missy Johnson 
for their dedication in helping the family throughout their loved one's long 
battle with Alzheimer's disease. She will be dearly missed by family and 
friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 
Alz.org
