Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday, June 4, at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the St. Joseph church cemetery. He is survived by his son, Don Sidney Montz; daughter, Kim Montz Chiasson; sister, Beryl Montz Bynum; grandchildren, Zachary Faucheaux and Sydni Faucheaux; and great-grandchild, Jackson Faucheaux. He was preceded in death by his wife, Angele "Angie" Barkate Montz; and parents, Sidney Daniel Montz Sr. and Stella Daigle Montz. Sidney was a longtime minister of the Blessing of Father Seelos, famed for his miraculous cure of a Louisiana woman from cancer. As a reflection of his devotion, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to: The National Shrine of Blessed Father Seelos, 919 Josephine Street, New Orleans, LA, 70130. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Haydel Memorial Hospice, especially Carol Haydel and Nathaniel Ward. They would like to express their gratitude to Judy Moreaux, Lila Arson and Missy Johnson for their care and support.
