Leonard "Mack" Payne Jr., 80, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of 
Montegut, died Thursday, May 7, 2015. 

Visitation will be from noon until funeral time Saturday, May 16, at St. Peter 
Baptist Church in Montegut. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the 
church, 

with burial in Southdown Cemetery. 

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Scott Payne; son, Steven Walcott, of 
Houston, Texas; daughters, Veida P. Walcott, of Montegut, and Bobbie Jean 
Payne, of Lafayette; brothers, Warren (Patrice) Payne, of Houma, and Nathan 
(Nannette), of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Lillie (Peter) Thibodeaux, of Montegut, 
Gloria Smith, Cecile Fleming and Levenia (John) Fleming, of Chauvin; 13 
grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Ella Payne Sr.; sons, 
Melvin and Marlin Payne; brothers, Russell Payne and Rudolph Preston; and 
sisters, Lucille Dace and Helouise Payne. 

Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
