Army veteran and a retired employee of Leonard Chabert Medical Center in Houma, LA, departed this life on Monday, May 18, 2015 at his residence in Gray, LA. He was 80, and a native of Thibodaux, LA. Visiting at Morning Star Baptist Church, 101 Brule Rd., Thibodaux, LA on Saturday, May 23, 2015 from 9:00am to Religious Services at 11:00am conducted by Rev. Larry Frank. Burial in the Morning Star Baptist Church cemetery, Brule Rd. Survived by his wife, Mary Ann Woods of Gray, LA; 1 daughter, Dwan (Tyrone) Francis of Thibodaux, LA; 3 sons, Clifton Woods, Jr. and Craig Woods of Thibodaux, LA, Desmond (April) Woods of Lafayette, LA; 2 sisters, Ida Hunt of Thibodaux, LA and Edith (Clarence) Scoby of Algiers, LA; 4 brothers, Rev. Paul (Pearl) Woods of Texas, Warren (Constance) Woods of Alabama, Edison (Barbara) Woods of Hahnville, LA, and Adrew (Gwen) Woods of Huntsville, AL; Also 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Joseph Woods, Sr.; 1 sister, Martha Woods Shareef; 3 brothers, Calvin, Joseph, Jr., and Major Woods; Maternal grandparents, Edith and Walter Dyer, Sr.; Paternal grandparents, Ida and James Woods, Sr. He was a member of St. Joseph Lodge, and American Legion Post #513.
