Jonathan Celestin, Jr., 84, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of 
Houma died Friday June 19, 2015 at 7:53 a.m.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at the the church. The 
funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Dularge Community 
Baptist Church, 524 Andrew Street, Houma, LA with Rev. Gilbert R. Parker 
officiating. 

Burial will follow in Celestin Garden of Memories Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Thomas Celestin; sons, Mark Celestin, Sr. 
(Tremella) and Sylvester Celestin; daughters, Tyrika A. Sylvester and Ora M. 
Celestin; brothers, Robert Celestin, Sr. and Phillip Celestin; sisters, Ellen 
Celestin (Junius) and Betsy C. Davis; twenty-six grandchildren and twenty-seven 
great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his children, Barney Celestin, Sr. and Connie A. 
Celestin; grandchildren, Christina Celestin and Jaidyen Sylvester; parents, 
Pastor Jonathan Celestin,Sr. and Mable Jordan Celestin; paternal grandparents, 
Robert Celestin and Bessie Creasy Celestin; and maternal grandparents, 
Sylvester Jordan, Sr. and Betsy Moore Jordan.

Jones Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
