Willie Joseph "Mr. Bill" Lyons, 89, a native and resident of Chauvin, died 
Friday, June 19, 2015.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday, June 23, at St. 
Joseph's Catholic Church in Chauvin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 
p.m. Tuesday at the church, 

with burial in St. Joseph's Catholic Church cemetery in Chauvin.

He is survived by his stepsons, Cecil Foret and wife, Shirlene, and Daniel 
Foret and wife, Barbara; stepdaughter and caregivers, Lori Duplantis and 
husband, Alfred Jr.; stepdaughters, Cedolia Smith and Catherine Trahan and 
husband, Dwayne; brothers, Walter Lyons and wife, Leola, Albert Lyons Sr., 
Russell Lyons and wife, Linda, and Sidney Lyons Sr.; nine step-grandchildren; 
14 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Bernard Lyons; second wife, 
Gertie Foret Lyons; parents, Vanis A. Lyons and Beulah G. Lyons; stepson-in-
law, James "Larry" Smith; stepdaughter, Sonia Ann Foret; brothers, Lawrence 
Lyons and Wilbur Lyons and wife, Ruth; sisters, Emily Naquin and husband, 
Alvin, Delores Ledet and husband, Albert, and Beverely Domangue and husband, 
Norbert; sisters-in-law, Bertha and Jeanette Lyons; and one step-grandchild.

Mr. Bill was a lifetime member of Woodmen of the World in Chauvin.

The family would like to thank Dr. Abou Issa and staff, Dr. Stagg at CIS, Dr. 
Maidoh, Sister Dionne, Father Brunet, Father Todd, the doctors and staff of 3 
North and 4 South at Terrebonne General Medical Center.

Samart Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
