She was a native of Rising Star, TX and resident of Houma, LA. since 1973. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Houma A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Houma. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John Moore, children, Vickie Smith (Cliff), Stella Carroll Prosperie (Don), Kay Labat (Curtis) and John S. Moore II, brother, Loyd D. Carroll, grandchildren, Allison Burke (Tim), Dr. Nicole Prosperie, Emily Bremer (Justin), Tim Smith (Shelby), Matthew Labat and Michael Labat, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends She was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd DeForest and Willard Francis Tarrant Carroll. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was an avid world traveler and contributor to the education of children’s lives for 36 years in LaFourche and Terrebonne Parishes. She also was an avid animal lover. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Special thanks to Dr. Richard Haydel, Homeinstead Caregivers and staff at Terrebonne General Medical Center for their loving compassionate care. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the library at Mulberry Elementary School or the Terrebonne Public Library. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Houma. ======================
