Ernest Jean Schexnayder, a native and resident of Vacherie, LA died on July 3, 
2015 at the age of 86.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Our Lady of Peace 
Catholic Church in Vacherie from 8:00 AM until funeral time. A Mass of 
Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM 

with burial to follow in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church cemetery in 
Vacherie.

He is survived by his children Melissa S. (Leonard) Breaux, Alvin Schexnayder 
and companion Madonna Triche, Carmen Schexnayder, Douglas Schexnayder, Elise S. 
(Dale) Landry and Timothy (Rose) Schexnayder ; grandchildren Libby B.(Justin) 
Himel, Jurie S. (Scott) Torres, Nicole S. (Aaron) Guitreau, Elaine S. (Ryan) 
Gravios and Jeri-Anne S. (Nicholas) Griffin; and great-grandchildren Meah and 
Evan Himel, Katelyn, Logan and Bella Torres, and Hannah, Hali and Parker 
Gravios.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Reulet Schexnayder;his parents 
Aurelien and Marie Evelie Schexnayder; grandson Alvin Schexnayder, Jr; borthers 
Denis and Fernand Schexnayder; and sisters Elodie S. Falgoust, Evelina S. 
Falgoust, Cecile S. Brazan, Agnes S. Kreamer and Blanche S. Oncale.

Ernest enjoyed hunting, gardening, going to the camp, dancing, visiting with 
friends and making people laugh.

He was employed for 42 years by Avondale Shipyards.

Thibodaux Funeral Home, INC. is in charge of handling the funeral arrangements.
