A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, at First Presbyterian Church in Thibodaux. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia (Ginger) Taylor Champagne and her children, Skyler, Slade and Sawyer Champagne, of Spring, Texas; son, Louis Taylor and wife, Amanda, and their children, Kennedy and Jackson Taylor, of Thibodaux; son, William Taylor and wife, Pam, and their children, Emma and Catie Taylor, of Baton Rouge; brothers, James and Jack Taylor; and sister, Marguerite Taylor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Peterson Taylor; parents, Virginia B. Taylor and Robert A. Taylor Sr.; and brother, William Taylor. Robert served in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University.
