Karen "Poonie, Cal" Walker, 61, a native of Houston, Texas, and resident of 
Gray, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015. 

Visiting will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday, July 18, at Sunlight 
Baptist Church in Schriever. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at 
the church, 

with a private burial. 

She is survived by her husband, Reginald Walker Sr.; father, Samuel Hawthorne; 
sons, Reginald Jr. (Annice), Orlandan and Hershel Walker; daughter. Kimberly 
(Rasheed) Shelby; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 11 sisters. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Priscilla Hawthorne; grandparents, 
John and Rosetta Scott, William Hawthorne Sr. and Maggie Williams Adams. 

Kennedy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
