Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2015/f1508.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Rudy Peter Bourgeois, 84, a native of Raceland and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2015. Rudy donated his body to Tulane Medical School to help further medical research. A Memorial Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday, Aug. 29, at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 12424 Brogdon Lane in Baton Rouge. A Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Paula Winter Bourgeois; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Butch Peno, of Baton Rouge; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Kim Bourgeois, of Prairieville; and son, Andy Bourgeois, of Baton Rouge; grandson and wife, Justin and Charlotte Peno, of St. Francisville; granddaughters, Emily and Claire Bourgeois, of Prairieville; great- granddaughters, Joey and Eleanor Peno, of St. Francisville; brother, Bobby and wife, Sally, of Lafayette; brother, Glenn and wife, Bernice, of Raceland; sister-in-law, Era Jean Bourgeois, of Raceland; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Pearl Bourgeois, of Raceland; brother, Gerald, of Raceland; brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Garnet Picou Bourgeois, of Houma; and granddaughter, Jill Peno, of Baton Rouge. Rudy was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a 1958 graduate of the University Of Mississippi School Of Pharmacy and a registered pharmacist for 55 years. He was a past president of the Capitol Area Pharmaceutical Association and he received the Billy Middleton Award. He volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul Pharmacy and Pat's Coats for Kids. Rudy was a founding member and longtime usher at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Charlie's Place, the caregivers of Bridgeway Healthcare and Hospice, and the nurses, social workers and staff of Nottingham Regional Rehab Center for their care and compassion for Rudy.
