He was born February 14, 1949 in New Orleans, LA. He was a resident of Chackbay, LA and a native of St. James, LA. Visitation will be Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 8:00 am until funeral time at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Chackbay. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am at the church with burial following in Our Lady of Prompt Succor cemetery in Chackbay. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Brenda; daughter, Shelli and son-in-law R.D.; son, Kevin and daughter-in-law Erin; and five grandchildren, Eli, Libby, and Max Gravois, and Lexi and Liam Bourgeois; sisters, Shirley Braun, Linda Wells, Thelma Bourgeois, and Lucille Bourgeois; and brothers, Glen, Edmond, and Jerry Bourgeois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Tessie Hatfield Bourgeois; sister, Elaine; and brothers, David and Martin. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was one of the St. James Wildcats and New Orleans Saints’ biggest fan. He was a machinist employed by M. Rodrigue & Son for 42 years. We would like to thank Dr. Edward Haight, Dr. Amparo Gutierrez, Dr. Stephen Kantrow, and the entire staff of the LSU ALS Clinic, Chrissie Trosclair with the ALS Association, STAT Home Health, and Journey Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to the ALS Association Louisiana-Mississippi Chapter or Team Gleason.
