Joseph "J.C." Charles Martin, 79, a native of Bayou Blue and resident of Houma, 
died at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2015. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday, Aug. 27, at Chauvin 
Funeral Home in Houma. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the 
funeral home, 

with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery II. 

He is survived by his sons, Jody P. Martin and wife, Christi, and Jonathan W. 
Martin and wife, Laura; daughter, Jill M. Barnhill and husband, Brian; 
grandchildren, Lacy M. Gonzales and husband, Jerry, Lauren M. Antill and 
husband, Brett, Lindsy Martin, Courtney B. Dyson and husband, Tommy, Justin 
Breaux, Jena B. Dupre and husband, Cody, Jordyn Martin, Kyle Hazelwood and 
Caroline Michel; and eight great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Helen Ann Hebert Martin; 
parents, Theophile and Louise LeCompte Martin; daughter, Patti M. Cordell; 
brothers, Wilfred "Bill" Robert Sr. and Edward Martin; and sisters, Mildred 
Fazzio, Ledora Authement and Leona Authement. 

Joseph was the owner and operator of Consolidated Truck Salvage for 54 years. 
He was a past King of the Krewe of Terreanians and the Krewe of Hyacinthians. 
He was a founding member and past master of Terrebonne Fellowship Lodge No. 
481, a 32nd degree Mason, past president of Houma Shrine Club and past monarch 
of Ka Jon Grotto. 

Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
