Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2015/f1508.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Betty Ann Eschete Poiencot, 80, a native of Houma and resident of Bayou Dularge, died at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday, Aug. 22, at St. Eloi Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery II. She is survived by her spouse, Aloysius ""Al"" Poiencot; sons, Doug Poiencot and wife, Simone, David Poiencot and wife, Sheila, Kelly Poiencot and wife, Daphne, and Al Poiencot and wife, Priscilla; daughters, Gwen Trahan and husband, Darrel, Mary Robinson and husband, Mike, and Celeste Landry and husband, Pat; brother, Nolan Eschete Jr. and late wife, Patsy; sister, Christine Eunice and late husband, Benny; grandchildren, Matt Benoit and wife, Lori, Katie Danos and husband, Daniel, J.R. Trahan, Mandi Trahan, Shawn Robinson and wife, Corrina, Phillip Robinson and wife, Ashley, Drake Poiencot, Therese Poiencot, Gavin Poiencot, Abbigail Poiencot, Celina Hargenrader and husband, James, Tess Fonseca and husband, Brandon, Delanna Poiencot, Kylle Poiencot and Delane Poiencot; and great-grandchildren, Brock, Scarlet, Dylan, Adeline, Kane, Emily, Connie, Billy, Carl, Isaiah, Lily, Lanie, Lyla, Phillip, Shawn, Laila, Kolby, Zoe, Jack, Sawyer and Lucy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nolan Eschete Sr. and Lela Matherne Eschete; grandchild, Olivia Fonseca; and brother, Donald Eschete and wife, Genevieve. Betty Ann was a parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church. She was involved in the Bayou Dularge Community from the day she moved on the bayou in 1957. She was an active member of the St. Eloi Ladies Auxiliary and the Knights of Columbus Council 8779 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a past volunteer at Chabert Medical Center Gift Shop. She was an avid artist who loved crafts, reading and the New Orleans Saints. She especially loved decorating her home for the Christmas holidays to share with her family and friends. She always said she was not just a housewife, but a domestic engineer. She will be sadly missed by all the people she touched in her life. She will be especially missed by her family and loving husband of 61 years.
