Ernest Anthony Rose, Sr., 75, a native and resident of Chackbay, died 
peacefully at 6:30 A.M. on Friday, August 14, 2015 at his home.

Visitation will be held at Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux, LA on Monday, 
August 17, 2015 from 8:00 A.M. until service time. A Religious Service will be 
held Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Thibodaux Funeral Home. 

Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux, LA.

He is survived by his children; Karen Richard and husband Charles, III, John 
Rose and wife Sandra, Ernest Rose, Jr. and wife Liz, and Lorili Becnel and 
husband Edward; grandchildren, Dustin Richard, Cody Rose, Ellie Becnel, Hailey 
Rose Cortez, Leanna Becnel Cupit, Brooke Rose Bourgeois; and five great-
grandchildren; brothers, Roy Rose and wife Rose Mary, Joe Rose and wife 
Dorothy; and sisters, Matilda Rose Dempster and husband Pershing, Sr., Cecile 
Rose Gauthreaux and husband Howard, and Martha Rose Jones.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Folse Rose; parents, Tibit and 
Mathilda Trosclair Rose.

Ernest was retired and disabled from Avondale Shipyard and worked 25 years as a 
material handler. He enjoyed deer hunting, birds, raising rabbits, buying new 
cars, and eating at Burger King with friends.

Thibodaux Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
