Joseph E. Toups Jr., a native and lifelong resident of the Raceland - St. 
Charles Community passed away on Wednesday August 5, 2015.

He is survived by his three children, Michael Toups, Paul and wife Peggy Thiac 
Toups, Melanie Toups and Deborah Thompson. Three grand children, Lauren Toups 
and Sara Dorsey, Erin and Kristen Toups, and one brother Louis Toups and wife 
Ida.

He was preceded in death by his wife Geneva Champagne Toups, parents Joseph E. 
Toups Sr. and Laura Sevin Toups. Brothers, Philip Toups Sr., Francis Toups, 
Paul Toups and Leo Toups – sisters, Katherine, Margaret and
Dorothy Toups.

Visitation will be held at St. Charles Boromeo Church on Saturday morning at 
8:00 am until funeral time, at 11:00 am. 

Burial following in St. Charles Boromeo Church cemetery.

Always known as a fun loving jokester, Joe was a true friend to everyone he 
met. He was a retired mechanic who loved to repair and restore anything from 
truck and tractor engines to generators to antique church bells. He was the 
handy man’s handy man...to be missed by all.

The Toups family offers a special note of sincere thanks and personal gratitude 
to all the staff of caretakers and Divinity Home Health for taking such 
wonderful care, both physically and spiritually, of our father in his time
of need
