She is survived by her husband, Errol; sons, Todd and wife, Tammy (Bouffanie) Duet, of Golden Meadow, and Jason Duet; sister, Elaine P. and husband, Kerry Knight, of Thibodaux; brothers, Michael and wife, Amy (Fort) Plaisance, of Baton Rouge, Perry and wife, Dale (Kiger) Plaisance, of Bogue Chitto, Mississippi; brother and sister-in-law, David and Susan Duet Jr., and brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Becky Duet; granddaughters, Magen and Amber Duet; great-grandson, Caden Arceneaux; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ella Mae Terrebonne Plaisance; father, Oneil J. Plaisance; mother-in-law, Francis T. Duet; father-in-law David Duet Sr.; and daughter Marissa Duet. Laura was born July 31, 1948 in Golden Meadow. She was raised in Cut Off and Galliano. She was a 1967 graduate of South Lafourche High School, where she met her husband, Errol "Butch" Duet. They were married Aug. 3, 1968. Laura began her adult life as a beautician and hairdresser in Golden Meadow. She then began concentrating on raising her three children while her husband Butch ran his tugboat, the Master Todd. After her children grew up, Laura began an 18-year career as a cook at several dining facilities in Cut Off and Galliano, such as Mommie Joe's and B&E Seafood Restaurant. Laura came from a long line of excellent cooks. She cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday Sept. 21 and 9-10:45 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 22 at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off. A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off 11 a.m. Tuesday, with burial in the church cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Kellie Schmeeckle, oncologist, and the staff at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, the very kind and compassionate staff at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice and Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge. When the Lord calls our loved one home, he leaves a gift of memories in exchange and Laura will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. ======================
