Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 9:00 am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church at 11:00 am with burial to follow in St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church cemetery. Gus is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bernice Matherne Falgout; children, Anne (Neil) Jordan, Patsy (Ricky) Whitehorn, Gus (Evelyn) Falgout, Jr., Janet (Michael) Gros, Ruth (Stan) Breaux; grandchildren, Renee (Stephen) Lindsey, Paul (Jenny) Jordan, Claire Falgout, Nicholas Falgout, Brittany Gros, Megan Breaux, Ryan Breaux and sister, Rita Falgout Babin. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Theresa Falgout; brothers, Freddie John Falgout and Norris Falgout and sister, Louise Falgout Dufrene. Gus was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member and past commander of the Freddie John Falgout VFW Post 3665, a member of the American Legion Post 349 and an usher for St. Mary Nativity Church. After his military service was completed he returned to Raceland and began a lifelong career as a master carpenter. He was an avid gardener. The family would like to sincerely thank his care takers: Sherell Stevenson, Janice Nolan, Toni Shephard, Yvonne Smith, Barbara Matherne and Journey Hospice for their passionate care.
