Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2015/f1509.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Amy Mire Foret, 101, a native and lifelong resident of Raceland, died quietly in her sleep Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28 at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church in Raceland. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church cemetery in Raceland. She is survived by one daughter, Janet Jacqueline Foret Lococo and husband C. "Teddy" Lococo; three grandchildren Gaynell Lococo Dufrene Aucoin and husband Keith, Castranzio T. Lococo Jr., and Pauline Lococo Waguespack and husband Joey; one great-granddaughter, Dominique Cecilia Lococo; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ridley Pierre Foret; daughter Gaynell Theresa Foret; parents, Seraphin J. and Clelie Zeringue Mire; four sisters, Theotile M. Dias, Blanche M. Dias, Enola M. Knight and Louella M. Bourgeois; two brothers, Ilson Mire and Felix Mire. She donated much of her time to tending to St. Mary Church on Thursday mornings for many years, and served as president of the Ladies Altar Society for many years. She sewed countless vestments for priests over the years. In 1974 she received Honorable Mention in the Houma Scribblers Club Poetry Contest. In August 1982, she was awarded the Bishop's Medal for outstanding service to the church. She penned three books of poems, published them herself, paid for all costs, and all proceeds were given to St. Mary's Ladies Altar Society. In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred. Falgout Funeral Homes in Raceland is in charge of arrangements. ======================
