Burial will be held in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. She is survived by her son, Mickey John Himel and wife, Sandra; daughters, Tina Marie Himel Piazza and husband, Kenneth, and Toni Faye Himel Romero and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Stephen James Piazza and Nicholas Andrew Romero. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Roy Andrew "Cheeks" Himel; parents, Paul James and Antoinette Uzee Savoie; brothers, Benjamin, Paul and Carroll Savoie; sisters, Bessie S. Brunet, Elsie and Jeanette Savoie. She was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church. She retired from Terrebonne Parish Clerk of Courts Office after 24 years of service as a Supervisor in Civil and Probate Department. She was a member of the Annunziata Catholic Church and Altar Society. She enjoyed reading, watching her soap operas and going to the casino. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Thanks to Toni and Richard Romero for opening their home, and Lorraine and Danny Allemand who were there through chemo and trips to Oschner. Thanks to her neighbors who kept an eye on her property. A special thank you to the nurses at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC for their compassion and care, and to all those who said prayers for her recovery - especially Father Mike Bergeron, Father Glenn LeCompte, Deacon Joey Lirette, South Louisiana Hospice and Donna Hutchinson, Kena Davis and care giver Sherri Parr. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Roy A. and Valerie S. Himel. ======================
