Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2015/f1509.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Josephine "Jo" Duplantis Howell was born in Houma Jan. 14, 1940 and went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday Oct. 4, at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 8227 Country Road 205, in Plantersville, Texas 77363. The Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday Oct. 5, at the church, with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Church cemetery in Plantersville. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert W. "Bob" Howell; daughter, Mary Beckman and husband, Wade; son, Robert "Rob" E. Howell and wife, Teri; brother, Pat Duplantis; and grandchildren, Colin and Carson Beckman and Jordyn and Warren Howell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Easton C. Duplantis and Marie Dubois Duplantis; brother, J.C. Duplantis; and sisters, Norma Rhodes and Betty White. Jo moved to Texas with her husband where she raised their two children and enjoyed time with their four grandchildren. She earned her bachelor's in education from Nicholls State University and her master's in counseling from Sam Houston State University in Texas. She went on to spend more than 25 years as an elementary school teacher and counselor, fulfilling her passion to educate and encourage thousands of children. She enjoyed hobbies such as Bridge and Bunco, which she shared with her many friends. Jo was passionate about many things in her life, but her family was her pride and joy. She truly was the spirit and support of her family. Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery, Texas, is in charge of arrangements. ======================
