EULA MAE CHEVIS "MOTHER" MATTHEWS: She departed this life on Friday, September 
4, 2015 at her residence. 
She was 85, a native and resident of Thibodaux, LA. 

Visiting at Williams and Southall Funeral Home, Thibodaux, LA on Friday 
September 11, 2015 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Visiting on Saturday September 12, 
2015 at Allen Chapel AME Church, 1106 Lagarde St. Thibodaux, LA from 9:00am to 
Religious Services at 11:00am. 

Burial in Allen Chapel AME Church cemetery, Thibodaux. 

Survived by 2 daughters, Rebecca and Eula Matthews; 6 sons, Robert, Ulyssess, 
Hurley, Ronald, Lionel and Gary Matthews; 3 daughters-in-law, Brenda, Mary, and 
Sharon Matthews; 58 grandchildren; 170 great-grandchildren; 105 great-great 
grandchildren; a devoted friend, Evette Owens; and a host of neices, nephews, 
other relatives and friends. 

Preceded in death by her husband, Harry Matthews, Sr.; her parents, Hurley and 
Rebecca Chevis; 2 daughters, Audrey Allen and Mary Thomas; 3 sons, Harry 
Matthews, Jr., Michael Matthews, Sr., and Charles Matthews, Sr.
