Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2015/f1509.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Philip John McMahon, 84, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, died at noon, Monday, Sept. 28, 2015. Visitation will be from 8:15 a.m. until funeral time Friday, Oct. 2, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with a private burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery II at a later dater. He is survived by his spouse, Beverly Wilson McMahon; sons, Webster McMahon and wife, Vickie, Neal McMahon and wife, Michelle, and Philip McMahon and wife, Lynn; daughters, Sharon McMahon Mailey and husband, Jim, and Susan McMahon Palmer and husband, Matt; brothers, Dan McMahon and wife, Polly, and John McMahon and wife, Barbara; sister, Nancy McMahon Pecot and husband, Charles; and grandchildren, Justin, Matthew and Andrew Palmer, Mallory, Peyton, Taylor, Philip, Mary and Julie McMahon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry George McMahon and Neenah Webster McMahon; brother, Henry George McMahon; and granddaughter, Genevieve Mailey. Philip was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. He was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and L.S.U. Law School. He served in the U.S. Army, 3rd Infantry Division, and is a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, D.K.E. Fraternity, a member and chairman of the Judiciary Commission of Louisiana and he served on the Board of Directors for the Regional Military Museum in Houma. He was a board member and past president of the Terrebonne Parks and Recreation (T.P.R.), past president of the Terrebonne Quarterback Club, served on the Board of Directors for Coastal Conservation Association (C.C.A.) and past member of the Terrebonne Parish Bar Association. Philip practiced law as an attorney at the McMahon and McCollum Law Firm. Special thanks and appreciation go to Elmay Hotard for her many years of dedicated service.
