James Arthur Mooring, DC, 59, a native of Arkansas and a resident of Houma, 
departed from this life on Friday, September 04, 2015.

A Memorial service will be Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 10am to 12pm at 
First Baptist Church of Thibodaux, LA.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years,Katherine Marie Eastin Mooring, 
two daughters Katherine "Katie" Patricia Mooring and Hannah Karolina Mooring. A 
Great Uncle Albert Sneed, Great Aunt Davie Zimitski, Aunt Kathryn "Kaye" 
Handlang and husband Don, and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Arthur "Frank" Franklin Mooring 
and Patricia Boyd Stewart Mooring, Grandparents Brutus Darwin and Lilla Jane 
Mooring, James Ebeneezer and Mary Kathryn Haynes Stewart, Uncles: Rev. Thomas 
Frederick Mooring, Dr. BD Mooring, Wilbur Oliver Mooring, James Webber Mooring, 
Dr. Billy Joe Mooring, James E. Stewart Jr., Aunts: Nina Jean Myers, Francis 
Marion McElwee, Mary Virginia "May Gin" Collins, Melba Jane Mooring and Sarah 
Mildred Russell.

Jim was currently the Administrator for The State of Louisiana, DHH, Water 
Operator Certification Program.

He was a 1974 graduate of Hahnville High School. After high school Jim attended 
LSU then transferred to Nicholls State University and obtained his pilot's 
license and a degree in Agricultural Business. Furthering his education he 
attended Parker College in Dallas and obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic. In 
2006 he became an ordained minister, currently pastoring at the Valentine 
Baptist Baptist Church.

Jim Mooring loved his God and family and always had a thirst for knowledge. 
Taken to heaven way too soon, he will be missed. We ask that you take a moment 
to hug your loved ones, say "I love you", take a walk in the woods, or feed the 
birds. Time waits for no one.
