He was a native of Natchitoches, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and on Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Burial: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2 He is survived by his wife, Ethel Mary Gravois Pourciau, Baton Rouge, LA sons, Glen Edward Pourciau and wife, Linda Helen Lane of Crawfordville, Florida daughters, Deborah Pourciau Ledford of Baton Rouge, LA and Mary Pourciau Norris and husband Thomas Benjamin Norris of Denham Springs, LA, grandchildren, Alicia Ledford, Michael Ledford, Melissa Rogers, Timothy Rogers, Christine Pourciau, David Pourciau and Chase Pourciau, and great-grandchildren, Devan, Ethan, Lille, Gage and Jamie sisters, Ella “Jelli” Pourciau of Lafayette, LA and Aimee Pourciau Smith of Alexandria, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raphael Alphonse Pourciau and Mable Marcelli Pourciau and sons, Stephen Henry Pourciau and Russell James Pourciau Raphael and Ethel Mary Gravois Pourciau married June 6, 1953 at Holy Family Church in Port Allen, LA. Mr. Pourciau was a member of the United States Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. He was active in Boy Scouts obtaining Eagle Scout and attended World Boy Scout Jubilee in France. He received a Petroleum Engineering degree from Louisiana State University in 1952. He started his professional career with United Gas in Shreveport, LA and later retired from Union Oil of California in Houma, LA. After retirement he devoted his time to volunteering at the Saint Vincent de Paul’s and the local food bank. Raphael was a member of the Knights of Columbus. With his engineering background, Mr. Pourciau was able to fix, repair, and build almost anything. He was also a proud arm-chair quarterback. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made in memory of Raphael Pourciau to the St. Vincent de Paul’s pharmacy. He was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. ======================
