A celebration of Russell's life and memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Big Red Church at 2131 N. Van Ness Blvd. in Fresno, California 93704. He is survived by his grieving mother, Judy; faithful and adoring sister, Suzannah Alexandra Rabbass; admiring nephew and niece, Xan and Ollie Wagner; and children, Dustin and Chaim. And, we do not dare forget to mention his beloved pit bulls, Sylvia and Lazy. Russell was a concerned father, loving son, attentive uncle and protective big brother. He was blessed with a creative soul, artistic eyes and skill of hand which he used to fashion sculptures, tattoos and drawings. He was a larger than life character with an infectious sense of humor that will be forever cherished by those who knew and loved him. Russell was the first born to Richard Rabbass and Judy Theriot on May 16, 1961. His athletic gifts were recognized early on and he was one of two people to ever receive the Golden Trunks for lettering in varsity track, football, baseball and basketball at Morton High School in Morton, Washington. Russell married Tina Capps and fathered two children, Dustin Blaze and Chaim- Elise. Tina and Russ separated and Russ moved to California where he then fell in love and married Kristi Watson in 2002. Kristi, a passenger on his bike that fatal day, is still hospitalized, recovering from traumatic injuries and the loss of her beloved spouse. Russell was a commercial welder by trade and a tattoo artist. He combined these skills throughout his life to create sculptures from found metal parts. He designed and fabricated treasures from scraps of leather, wood and fabric into art. Although, he struggled with the disease of alcoholism and addiction for much of his life, he had, ironically, in the last three months found sobriety and had begun to establish new sober friendships. On the day of his death, he was sober and free, riding proudly with the woman he loved on his new Harley, the red Screaming Eagle. The warrior spirit in Russ survived many near death experiences, tragedies and hardships, yet he remained kind and generous to a fault. He was especially helpful to older and needy people. He had a radiant smile with a spark of light in his eyes. Stephens and Bean Funeral Home in Fresno, California, is in charge of arrangements. ======================
