Valerie "Kamala" Williams, 47, a native of Houma and resident of Houston, 
Texas, passed away at 9:53 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2015 at Harbor Hospice in 
Houston. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday, September 19, at 
Dularge Community Baptist Church. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. at the 
church, 

with burial in Southdown Cemetery. 

She is survived by her father, Ralph Haynes (Dorothy) of Houma; companion, 
Clayton Holmes of Houston; brothers, Frederick Williams of Houma, Gerald 
Williams of Lake Charles, Steven Humphrey of Baytown, Texas, Dontrell Haynes 
(Lawakah) of Austin, Texas, Lionel Rogers of Portsmith, Virginia, and Dominique 
Harvey of Houma; and sisters, Shirley Williams of Houma, Sharon Johnson and 
Roberta Lee (Shermaine) of Baytown, Texas. 

She was preceded in death by her mothers, Linda Williams and Millie W. 
Celestine; her maternal grandparents, George and Rosalie Williams; paternal 
grandparents, Cora Mae Prevost and Ralph Haynes; brother, Donald R. Williams; 
and sisters, Jacqueline B. Lyons and Eteria Burton Zenon. 

Jones Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
