Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2015/f1510.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Samantha Elizabeth Barker passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015 at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Samantha was born Aug. 27, 1992 in Baton Rouge. She is a 2011 graduate of Ascension Catholic High School in Donaldsonville. While a student at ACHS, she was a member of the Sunshine Girls Dance team for four years. Upon graduation Samantha attended Southeastern University in Hammond where she was an art history major. While in college, Sam was an active member of Kappa Tau chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi National Fraternity and was selected Outstanding Pledge in her freshman year. Sam was chosen to serve on the Southeastern University Orientation and Recruiting Team and also served as a Gamma Chi counselor for Greek recruiting She is survived by her father, Samuel P. Barker of Geismar, her brother and sister in law, Scott Douglas Barker and Brittany Bienvenu Barker of Little Rock, Arkansas. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother Marie Thibodeaux Prejeant of Houma. Samantha is preceded in death by her mother Janet Prejeant Barker, her maternal grandfather Henry Lawrence Prejeant, of Gray and paternal grandparents Lee Nicholas Barker and Bertha Naquin Barker of Thibodaux. Visitation for will be held at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1022 South Burnside Ave, Gonzales on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Eric Gyan followed by interment at Oak Lane Memorial Park Cemetery in Prairieville. Pallbearers for Samantha will be her brother Scott Barker and cousins William Abel, Bryce Chaisson, William "Billy" Barker, William Wintz, and Chad Braud. In lieu of flowers the family kindly request donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN.
