Dufrene, Jr. "Captain Doughbelly", 69, a native and resident of Des Allemands, LA, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2015. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at First Assembly of God Church, Des Allemands, LA. Religious services at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in Des Allemands Mennonite Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Dianna Dufrene; son, Vaniess J. Dufrene, III and wife Tara; grandson; Vaniess J. Dufrene IV "Van", brother, Rodney Dufrene and sisters, Patsy Madere, Sandra Tastet, Debra Lasseigne and Cindy Delaune. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vaniess Dufrene, Sr. and Julia Truxillo Dufene; son, Michael Dufrene and brother, Danny Dufrene. Captain Doughbelly was a Lic. USCG Tugboat Captain for 50 years. He loved his family and watching his grandson play baseball, fishing, eating out and watching Monster Jam. He was comforted by all of his puppies.
