Bernard Freeland Levy, 64, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, at 7:30 a.m. 
He was a native of New Orleans, and resident of Houma. 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until funeral time Friday, Oct. 9, at Chauvin 
Funeral Home in Houma. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral 
home, 

with burial in St. Francis de Sales II Cemetery. 

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Marx Levy; son, Bernard Freeland Levy Jr. 
and fiancee, Isabelle Yves Tabor; daughters, Marion Levy Larke and husband, 
Jeffrey Rome Larke and Anna Levy Plaisance and husband, Michael Paul Plaisance 
Jr.; brothers, Stephan Edward Levy and Scott David Levy; sisters, Martha 
Elizabeth Levy, Katherine Levy Strom and husband, John Strom, Lisa Levy Menard 
and husband, Sonny Menard, and Mary Frances Levy Templeton and husband, Ben 
Templeton; and grandchildren, Haley Elizabeth, Elizabeth Carol Larke and Elise 
Catherine Larke. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan Levy and Elizabeth Freeland 
Levy; and son, Nathan Isaac Levy. Bernard was a 35 year public servant of 
Terrebonne Parish. 

He served his community as an attorney, public defender and child advocate. 
He enjoyed fishing, horses and spending time with his family, friends and K-9 
companions, Lucy ,and Heather. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be 
made to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and CASA of Terrebonne in his name. 

Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
