Visitation will be Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 6pm - 8pm at Bayou Blue United Methodist Church and Friday, October 30, 2015 from 9am until 10am service time at Bayou Blue United Methodist Church. Religious Services will be at 10am on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Bayou Blue United Methodist Church Burial will be in Rogers - Matherne Cemetery, Houma, LA Survived by: Companion: Anita "Peggy" Aguilar Daughters - Pamela Matherne Guidry and husband Darrin, Nicole Dufrene Streva and husband Jeffrey, Connie Jennings Marcel and husband Robbie Sons - Kenneth "Kenny" Matherne, Jr., Keith "Aaron" Matherne, and Shane Paul Matherne and wife Elene Brother - Don Peter Matherne and wife Consuelo "Connie" Sister - Sue Ellen Matherne Olin and husband Loyd 11 grandchildren - Brooke Spiers, Darrin "DJ" Guidry, Jr., Jordan Paul Streva, Chad Braud, Charlie Anderson, Lindsay Cay Jennings, Kenneth Matherne III, Jeramy Matherne, Stacy Matherne, Anthony Robertson, Shawn Matherne 16 great grandchildren Preceded in death by: Wife - Juanice "Niece" Iona Matherne Parents - Irvin Peter Matherne and Della Rhodes Matherne Son - Clint Jennings Grandson - Michael Braud Former Lafourche Parish Councilman serving numerous terms. Member of the Bayou Blue United Methodist Church. Served in the National Guard. He was the Owner/Operator of MATCO in Thibodaux, LA. "Captain Matt" was a Charter Boat Captain for many years until his retirement. He loved to fish, hunt, travel the rodeo circuit and fly his cessna.
