Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2015/f1510.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Melvin "Skipper" Picou Jr., 60, moved from this life to the next with his family by his side at home on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 6:05p.m. He was a native and resident of Houma. Visitation will be from 5pm to 8 pm, on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Chauvin Funeral Home. Visitation on Friday, October 16th, 2015 will be from 8:00 am until 10:00 am with mass following, all at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; daughters, Leah Picou Nordenstam and husband, Erik, Sarah Picou Benitez and husband, Kenneth, and Megan Picou Duval and husband, Stanwood; mother, Mercedes Fabre Picou; siblings, Rudolph (Rudy) Picou and wife, Juanita, and daughters Carrie, Alicia, and Laura; Stacie Picou Harbin and husband, Rick, and children Malena, John Michael, and Matthew; Kellie Picou Graffagnino and husband, Gregg, and daughter Corinne; Ryan Picou and wife, Lacie, and children Peyton and Rebecca; grandchildren, Cameron Duval, Marin and Logan Nordenstam, and Emmy Grace Benitez. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Anthony Picou, Sr. Skipper was a loving, devoted husband, wonderful father, compassionate sibling, selfless friend, terrific coach, and an avid duck hunter. He shared his love and passion of youth girls' volleyball and softball by coaching for the last thirty years. He knew how to tell a joke, embrace a stranger, make a friend, and love life. Since being diagnosed with cancer, Skipper and his family were truly touched by the overwhelming love and support shown to him by the community. As Skipper would say, "I am truly blessed." ======================
