He was a native and resident of Chauvin, LA. Visitation will be held Friday, October 30, 2015 from 9:30 AM until Service time at St. Joseph Catholic Church . Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial: St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Chauvin He is survived by his wife, Corinne LeCompte Portier and her mother June Domangue LeCompte and former wife Patsy Martin Portier; children, Buffy Domangue (Kevin), Chad Portier, Sr (Angela), Jaime LeBoeuf (Howard), Robbie Portier (Ashley), Paige McGehee (Raymond), Gena Trahan (Hunter), Russell Portier, Jr, Kate Portier; grandchildren, Jody (Megan), Amanda (Brandon), Jensen, Katelyn, Chad, Jr, Lexi, Gage, Gracyn, Brandt, Chelsey, Brylan, Corynn and Cooper; brothers, Ted, Bobby, Steve and sister, Linda Tauzin. He was preceded in death by his, parents, Maurice Anthony Portier and Emelda Josephine Naquin Portier, and father in law, Jacob A. LeCompte, Sr. He was a very caring, loving husband, father and grandfather. He could put a smile on anyone’s face by just being in the room. He was relentlessly determined in everything he set out to do. He earned everyone’s respect instantly and was a friend to all. He was a hardworking man and an accomplished boat builder and built boats for people around the world. He was a passionate and persistent outdoorsman. The family would like to thank the Little Caillou Fire Dept., Acadian Ambulance, TGMC, Ochsner and all the Doctors and nurses who helped him throughout the years. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chauvin, LA ======================
