"Uncle Joe" Badeaux, 93, a native of Larose and resident of Cut Off, passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Falgout Funeral Homes of Galliano and from 9 a.m. until funeral time on Thursday, Nov. 12, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano. Military Honors will be performed at 10 a.m. at the church with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Cheramie Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gladys Terrebonne Badeaux; daughter Suzette B. Hunter and husband Wayne; grandchildren Raven P. Hunter and husband Caleb and Jacob Hunter and wife Amanda; great-grandchildren Caden, Kael, Piper, and Koda Hunter; brother Howard Badeaux; and sisters Stella Mae Leonard and Mary Jane Griffin and caregiver Harriet Pierce. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert Badeaux Sr.; brothers Severin, Alphonse "Jim", Johnny, and Albert Badeaux Jr.; and sisters Flossie B. LeBlanc and Eleoda Melancon. Freddie was a World War II Army veteran, serving with Company C 151st Infantry Regiment and a member of the local VFW. The family would like to thank Dr. Camille Pitre, and the staff of Notre Dame Hospice and Lady of the Sea Home Health for their care and compassion.
