Ernest Joseph Bourgeois, 80, a native of Raceland and resident of Houma, died 
Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015 at 4:10 p.m. 

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22, at Chauvin 
Funeral Home and 8:30 a.m. until funeral time Monday, Nov. 23, at St. Francis 
de Sales Cathedral. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. at the 
church, 

with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. 

He is survived by his daughter, Evelyn B Breaux; son, Danny Bourgeois; 
grandson, Joshua Breaux; sisters, Bertha Plaisance and husband, Harvey, and 
Lillian Bergeron; sister-in-law, Linda Arceneaux; and numerous nieces and 
nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette Ann Leonard Bourgeois; parents, 
Thompson and Eugenie Babin Bourgeois; and son-in-law, Robert "Pat" Breaux. 

He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Ernest was a 
hardworking and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He never met a 
stranger, was loved by all and will be sadly missed. 
He was a retired electrician and plumber from Chabert Medical Center. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Herminio Suazo and 
staff at FMC Dialysis Clinic, Dr. Bill St. Martin, Dr. Nicholas Rau and staff, 
Synergy Home Health, Dr. Russell Henry, Heritage Manor and TGMC, AMG Specialty 
Hospital and Haydel Memorial Hospice. 

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
