James "Smiley" Howard, 85, a native and resident of Thibodaux, departed this 
life on Monday, Nov. 16, 2015. 

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27 at Williams & 
Southall Funeral Home, 1204 Cleveland Street in Thibodaux and from 9 a.m. until 
Religious Services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church 
in Thibodaux, 

with burial in Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery in Thibodaux. 

He is survived by his daughters, Mona H. Collins and Jamie M. Howard; five 
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; 
Stepmother, Beatrice Scott Howard; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Forges Howard; parents, Eva A. 
Valentine and Henry Howard; one brother, and five sisters. 

Williams & Southall Funeral is in charge of arrangements.
