A resident of Houma, LA died on Tuesday, November 2, 2015 at Terrebonne General Medical Center. "For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Heneforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." II Timothy 4:6-8 Mr. McKay will have visitation at Community Funeral Home 230 S. Hollywood Rd., Houma, LA 70360 on Friday, November 6, 2015 from 1:00 -4:00p.m. The Life of Brother Hosea McKay, Jr. will be celebrated on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Beacon Light Baptist Church 4325 W. Park Gray, LA 70359 with visitation from 9:00a.m. until funeral time at 11:00a.m. His service will be officiated by Elder Philip Ruffin. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Chauvin, LA. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Claudette Ann Gray McKay. His mother, Mrs. Octavia Lagarde McKay and four daughters, Sherika, Christian, Rashonda and Latoya McKay and two step-daughters, Celeste Thomas and Keisha Ross. Three brothers, Lloyd, Doniver and Terry McKay. Two sisters, Ann Williams and Stella Butler and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Hosea McKay, Sr. He was a member of Beacon Light Baptist Church, a bus driver and food service driver with Terrebonne Parish School Board for 20 years. He enjoyed singing, playing his guitar, watching basketball and tennis. ======================
