Dr. Merlin Maurice Ohmer, 92, was a longtime resident of Thibodaux, LA who 
passed away in Jacksonville, FL on November 16, 2015. 

He was Dean at Nicholls State University and was a 40-year Rotarian with 
perfect attendance. Visitation will be on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Landry's 
Funeral Home from 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM. Thereafter, a Mass of Christian Burial 
will take place at St. Joseph's Co-Cathedral at 1:00PM followed by 

interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery. 

He was pre-deceased by his wife of 68 years, Beverly Ohmer; parents, Tobias and 
Elvina Ohmer. 

He is survived by his son, Dr. Merlin Paul Ohmer and wife Dr. Christine Trunk, 
Daughters Carol Ann Doucet and Susan Stephanie Chandler and husband Bill 
Chandler; grandchildren, Paul M. Ohmer, Megan D. Ohmer, Jayden R. Trunk, 
Catherine A. Peralta, Mary F. Blackman, Christa Mayo, Rachael Teel and three 
great-grandchildren.

Landry's Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of the arrangements.
