Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2015/f1511.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services for Tommy Joe Young, 70, of Thibodaux (formerly of Minden, LA) will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in Rockett Funeral Home Chapel, Ringgold, LA. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 P.M. in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Wheeling, LA. Officiating will be Bro. Paul Ford. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Rockett Funeral Home in Ringgold, LA. Tommy was born July 30, 1945 in Purvis, MS. He spent most of his life working in highway construction and was a Lafourche Parish deputy from 2007 to 2013. Tommy fought a hard battle with cancer for over a year. He wanted to spend his last days at home with his family. He passed away peacefully November 1, 2015 with his wife by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lolitta Young; sisters, Eloise Young and Opal Young; and an infant great grandson, Donald Lee Bouwell III. Tommy is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dot Young; brother, Johnny Ray Young; sisters, Carolyn Downs, Eretta Talley and Willie Pilgram; children, Steve Young and wife, Annette, Sissy Bare and husband, Anthony, Eddie Young, Lori Young, and Joseph Young and wife, April; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. He will be missed by many but none will miss him more than his wife and the apple of his eye, his granddaughter, Maddie Marie Young. Pallbearers will be Brandon Ray, Anthony Bare, Mitchell Ray, Mark Robinson, Mark Matranga and Tommy Wren. ======================
