Joseph “Coach Casse” Casse Jr., 64, a native of Metaire and resident of 
Thibodaux, passed away on December 24, 2015.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at St. 
Genevieve Catholic Church and on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 8:00 AM till 
funeral time at St. Genevieve Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will 
take place at 11:00 AM at the church. 

Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Thibodaux Casse; children, Matthew Casse; 
Phillip Casse and wife Lindsey; Catherine C. Simmers and husband Eric; step 
children, Glenda Gravois and Brian Gravois; brothers, Charles “Chucky”, Thomas 
“Tommy”, Robert “Bobby”, and David Casse; sister, Patricia Casse; 4 
grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; mother, Merryll Murphy Casse; previous 
spouse, Martha Simon.

Preceded in death by his father, Joseph Alexis Casse Sr.

He graduated from Rummel High School in Metairie. He earned a degree in Social 
Studies at The College of Santa Fe in New Mexico and a Master’s Degree of 
Education at Nicholls State University. He taught religion, history, and 
coached for a period of time for forty years at E.D. White Catholic High 
School. He was a member of the St. Genevieve Knights of Columbus.

555 Cardinal Drive, Thibodaux, LA, 70301.
